Less than a week after his brother, Westside Gunn, dropped his dope collaboration EP with Mr. Green, ‘FLYGOD Is Good…All The Time’, Conway keeps the Griselda Records flag flying high with the release of his new project ‘Blakk Tape’!!!
Conway provides more murder music (with help from a dark, grimy, backdrop supplied by producers Daringer, V Don and Bozack Morris) and drops lyrical gems as usual with topics ranging from rappers biting him and his brothers way of releasing art to declaring that he’s been to more funerals than weddings!!!
The tape again proves why Conway should remain in your Top 5 conversations and he doesn’t have any issues with saying he should be including lines like “if this was The Source era, G.O.A.T would have got 5 mics”! It’s certainly hard to argue with him especially when he’s rocking on his own throughout the whole tape!

Since starting this blog I’ve been itching to review something new from the almighty Griselda Records…and the time has finally arrived!
Westside Gunn is the smoothest, grimiest and illest Hip-Hop artist to come out in a long, long time! His brother Conway maybe more of an animal on the mic and lyrically heavier than his brother but Gunn never fails to deliver classic bars and content every time he drops a project! At the end of the day the man drops art and produces masterpieces every time!
Five months after dropping the outstanding ‘Hitler Wears Hermes V’ Gunn returns alongside DJ/Producer Mr. Green for a new 6-track EP that does not disappoint!
Green’s beats set the tone perfectly for Gunn to drop his world of grimey, yet slick, wordplay for one of the most dope projects to come out recently!!!
Also hearing Kool Herc on the intro talking about having less coverage on Hip-Hop, and how it always evolves, is a great way to kick off a project that sticks to the true essence of Hip-Hop!!!
