Max B is back on here again!!! Second time in less than a week!!!
The incarcerated rapper hooks up with his long time partner in crime (not literally), French Montana, to prove that not even prison can stop the wave!!!
A dope, 9-track, project that takes listeners back to the ‘Coke Wave’ days of 2008-2009 (before Max got locked up) while showing that, unlike Shyne, Max has only gotten better whilst in prison!!!
French also shines on this one providing us with some of his best work in ages showing that Max brings the best out in Montana!!!
The whole thing is produced by Paul Couture who’s work is amazing and suits both Coke Boys very well!!!
If this is a taster of what things will be like when Max comes home then we can wait for the full tsunami to flood Hip-Hop!!!
By the way people quit tripping on the ‘What about ‘Coke Wave 3′ shit?’! Who cares when you get a wavy release like this!!!
Highlights – ‘Impossible’, ‘Super Bad’, ‘Double Trouble’ (truthfully though this whole tape is DOPE!!!)
SO HERE WE ARE! After a week of voting the winners for the 1st annual Audio Dope Awards are finally here! Voted for by the public, on the United Elementz Media Twitter page, these are your winners for 2018!!!
Album of The Year: Lil Wayne – Tha Carter V (Runner-Up: Pusha T – DAYTONA).
After 4 years of waiting Lil Wayne finally delivered the fifth instalment of his ‘Carter’ series in late September. Was it worth the wait? Definitely! A mixture of classic ‘Mixtape Weezy’ style bars and punch lines made this such an enjoyable project! Tracks such as ‘Uproar’ (with Swizz Beatz) and ‘Dope N***az’ (with Snoop Dogg) gave the public a nice nostalgic feeling with familiar samples (G. Dep and Dr Dre respectively) while tracks like ‘Dark Side of The Moon’ (with Nicki Minaj) and ‘Mona Lisa’ (with Kendrick Lamar) proved that Young Money’s leader could still write amazing songs with brilliant concepts! All in all a worthy winner of this award and a great release to further Lil Wayne’s claim as the Greatest of All Time!!!
Single of The Year: Benny The Butcher (feat. El Camino) – India (Runner-Up: PRhyme – Rock It).
Griselda Records have been of fire this year! Westside Gunn and Conway have been keeping it moving as they wait to drop their major label debuts, through Shady, but one GxFR artist has been slowly creeping into the public eye with a string of insane features this year! His name is Benny The Butcher and he’s been killing everything this year! In June he dropped the EP ‘A Friend Of Ours’ and the projects lead single, ‘India’ (with El Camino), held the streets down this summer. The real fiend for more Benny started with this record after murdering every feature he was on! Big congrats to Benny on getting the recognition he deserves and we’re sure more is to come in 2019! (His debut album, ‘Tana Talk 3’, actually dropped on Black Friday so make sure to grab that and support – Benny The Butcher – Tana Talk 3)
Mixtape of The Year: Craig Mack – That’s My Word (Runner-Up: Conway – G.O.A.T).
In March this year the Hip-Hop world lost one of the most slept on artists of all time Craig Mack! In August, British DJ, Tape Deck King put together an 8-track project, titled ‘That’s My Word’, which was inspired by an interview Craig did on Tim Westwood’s Radio 1 Rap Show ‘New York Live’ special (with Marley Marl), in June 2000, where he revealed the title to be the name of his forthcoming album due out that Summer. Unfortunately the album never came out but 18 years later T.D.K got potential singles from the ‘lost’ album (along with segments from the interview and a crazy 12 minute freestyle) to drop this project, to keep Craig’s name alive, under the same title he announced 18 years previously on Westwood. A brilliant concept tape that is a worthy winner and a great way to end the legacy of one of Hip-Hop’s most underrated MC’s! R.I.P Craig Mack! You deserve this!!!
DJ Tape Deck King has put together an 8-track EP of the late Craig Mack’s work, from the year 2000, that was inspired by an interview the rapper had on Tim Westwood’s Radio 1 Rap Show.
On the show Mack announced he was dropping an album that summer called ‘That’s My Word’ but it never came out.
18 years later the ‘lost’ project (kind of) comes to light, courtesy of T.D.K’s Tape Deck Productions label. It also features snippets from the Westwood interview and a mammoth 12 minute freestyle too! Pure dope!!!
