Freddie Gibbs – Shadow of a Doubt is one of the most underrated albums of 2015. The album showcased fresh new talent to the mainstream from the talent bed of Gary, Indiana with some live modernized high quality production. What’s special about this album is his lyrical ability. His talent flourishes and shines on songs such as Extradite. Honestly the album should have kept that sublime East Coast rap sound like on Extradite instead of using those shitty trap beats. Also the autotune was a bit much and was too annoying. All in all, the album is a great album despite having some rehashed subject matter and material.

His talent flourishes and shines on songs such as Extradite as the song showcased his lyrical ability and showed how he stayed on point like a needle. The song uses that sublime East Coast rap sound thanks to the sample of Bob James – Nautilus and grittiness of Gary.

Freddie Gibbs stays on point like icicle. Niggas can’t decode or figure his rhyme riddle. Even in this new age. He has been killing them since Kool Moe Dee. He has been killing them with his rhymes, riddles, and lyrics. Talkin’ hard, not soft. He is the whole gallon and half pint like School Daze.

Just read these lyrics to Verse 1. These lyrics showcased how he stayed on point like a needle.

[Verse 1: Freddie Gibbs]
Took his order then I served him a quarter like five nickels
Man, I stay on point like icicle
Niggas can’t decode or de-figure my rhyme riddle
Took my money to the source and said fuck the man in the middle
Talkin’ hard, soft, heroin, green, that’s what we had boy
Erykah was the bag lady, I was the bag boy
Option was that minimum wage, live in a cage
Build a prison everyday, man they cultivatin’ these slaves
In this new age, dude’s wage is fugaz’
I’m the whole gallon and half pint like School Daze
I been killin’ ’em since Kool Moe Dee, Ra’, Kool, ‘Face
Zero dollars, zero tolerance, lettin’ that tool bang, nigga

Cold Ass Nigga described the cold personality of Freddie Gibbs and how he is a cold ass nigga.

Freddie is a cold ass nigga. The type to pop a clip off and reload ass nigga. The type to show up at your home and commit a cold blooded ruthless merciless killing. Murder is on his mind. That is how he is programmed. He main intent is to kill his enemies.

He be with Folks, VLs, and the Stones. Don’t be jocking Gangsta Gibbs. Go get your own pack. He’s got that AK smoking out. Where the bricks at, nigga? The chips at nigga? You know just what he means. Them Gary motherfuckers can get you kidnapped. He remembers when murder used to go for ten stacks a piece. Throw that ice in the Rollie.

I rate this album 4/5****!
