Mr. Doctor – Setripn Bloccstyle is one of the hardest gangsta rap albums from Sacramento of 1995 next to Brotha Lynch Hung – Season Of Da Siccness and X-Raided – Xorcist. Mr. Doctor’s debut album uses G-funk flavored production with dark Season Of Da Siccness type of beats. Overall the album has production that is considerably timeless and classic. This is a gangsta rap album that is dope as fuck. The album captured the dark atmosphere of the crime ridden streets and back alleys of Sacramento, California during the mid-1990s with such vivid imagery and explicit lyrics. One thing that was captured was the anger, fury, and aggression from the rappers on this album due to their mindset.
1995 was a great year for Sacramento rap. The album was an underground success due to being released during the glory days of gangsta rap. His debut album sold over 100,000 units in just less than a year.
Mr. Doctor was Brotha Lynch Hung’s understudy. Mr. Doctor was a protege of Brotha Lynch Hung and Ced Singleton. In a way, Mr. Doctor was a person that Brotha Lynch Hung produced. That makes since given how Mr. Doctor’s debut album is nearly entirely produced by Brotha Lynch Hung.
Mr. Doctor was dissing Lincoln Village Piru. Notice how Mr. Doctor was constantly dissing Lincoln Village all over the album. This album had diss songs aimed at rival gangs and rival sets all over Sacramento such as Bloods and Pirus. Mr. Doctor dissing Lincoln Village Piru is a common reoccurring theme that can be heard throughout the album. This whole album was a diss to Bloods and Pirus all over Sacramento.
Mr. Doctor rapped about doing a drive-by to a rival set belonging to a rival gang called Lincoln Village Piru on the song Killa Cap Pilla because one of the member from Lincoln Village Piru shot him. Lincoln Village Piru and Garden Blocc Crips are sworn enemies and rivals to each other. Mr. Doctor and his homies/locs are from the Garden Blocc set of South Sacramento which historically claimed the color ‘blue’ hence the reference to GBC/Garden Blocc Crips. Mr. Doctor was dissing Lincoln Village Piru. Notice how Mr. Doctor was constantly dissing Lincoln Village all over the album. This song was no exception. Mr. Doctor is just on a different level than other rappers. Well he WAS.
Killa Cap Pilla was the Garden Blocc classic of 1995. Similar to how the songs “Black 64” and “Gas Chamber” by C-Bo were Garden Blocc classics of 1993. (Garden Blocc is Florin Gardens/Garden Block.)
The niggas from Lincoln Village Piru were Mr. Doctor was high popped off five and the fact that something threw him back. Niggas from Lincoln Village Piru ain’t killed Mr. Doctor yet. So he got to dumping out them bullets. One of the members of Lincoln Village Piru shot Mr. Doctor. Mr. Doctor and Big Zo are around the field and out of Dodge. They were breathing hard. Then Mr. Doctor seen bullet holes in his shirt. He spots the blood that is all over him. But he is feeling tired. So he passes the strap to Ant. Mr. Doctor realized he got shot up in his gut.
Now around about this time Mr. Doctor ran his ass back in the apartment. He got on the phone to dial 911. Then he dropped the phone and fell on the floor. Ant said, “Don’t die on me, Doc. Loc you gonna stay coo’.” He starts taking short breaths. Big X-Raided Loc was right when he said there ain’t one motherfucker alive with a bulletproof forehead. So now he lays himself down. But it’s still Lincoln Village Killa. Mr. Doctor will be yelling “ Lincoln Village Killa!” and “Killa Cap Pilla!” to enact his revenge on the members of Lincoln Village Piru who shot him. They gets no respect.
After recovering from his sustained injuries for 22 days, Mr. Doctor got out of UC Davis Medical Center. UC Davis Medical Center is a state-of-the-art hospital that is located in the heart of Sacramento. Mr. Doctor went out and started back on the campaign representing the Garden Blocc set. All them gangstas know can’t none of them fuck with Mr. Doctor. Even Lincoln Village Piru knows they can’t fuck with Mr. Doctor from the Garden Blocc set. Mr. Doctor goes to the East Side of Sacramento which is the home base of Lincoln Village Piru. When he gets off their block on the East Side, he is about to have his ass an empty clip. This is where turns into an EBK which is Eastside Blood Killa. He ain’t goin to stop bangin now. Y’all think that shit’s over.
Fill ’Em Up is a song about Mr. Doctor putting in work and doing dirt for the Garden Blocc set and Garden Blocc itself. He talks about murdering rival gang members throughout the song.
Niggas don’t show their face unless they are locs. Blue rides and blue flags. Everybody else is fuckin’ hoes. Cut dope gets stuffed in the spot. And Mr. Doctor could barely see up in this biatch from all the smoke. He chokes on the smoke. Then he took one more toke. Then he throws the joint to Lynch and sliced some more dope.
So he steps out look up at the darkness. He is glad it’s night and that he is alive. Don’t ask why. He doesn’t know why it’s like that. Just know that locs are born to die. 1995 was crazy as fuck. Anyone who was ever heavily involved with a gang in the 90’s knows this feeling. You would have slept most of the day away. So when you step outside to start putting in work, it will be night time. You are simultaneously glad to be alive but you also know that if this night requires it, you will leave it all out on the streets with no hesitation – i.e. ready to die.
Bloccstyle was the Garden Blocc classic of 1995 which revolved around Mr. Doctor’s love for the Garden Blocc located in South Sacramento. (Garden Blocc is Florin Gardens/Garden Block.) The song is also about Mr. Doctor putting in work and doing dirt for the Garden Blocc set and Garden Blocc itself. The dark beats and whiny G-Funk synthesizers set this song apart from the other songs on this album. Brotha Lynch Hung and Mr. Doctor killed their verses without any flaws. This whole song was a diss to Bloods and Pirus all over Sacramento.
This shit is on. Mr. Doctor has got love for the blocc. Nine times for the blocc. Mr. Doctor and members of the Garden Blocc set crossed the railroad tracks out at Burbank High School off Florin Road late at night which felt nice. They came in through the hole in the fence and hrew up the mighty 9 Bloccstyle. Homies had the spot sewed up. Motherfuckers rollin’ with the GBC were down as fuck.
All the OG’s showed them what’s up. Every real nigga from 29th Street kicked up a gang of dust. This is why the BG’s dedicate the rhyme to the niggas from the GBC rollin’ with deuce nine (29th Street). What’s the wild straight deuces? And while the set’s in the city of Sacc ain’t got no truces in effect. And ain’t nobody gave a fuck while you niggas bullshittin’. Niggas don’t understand. How the fuck a bitch gonna stay out on the spot with no love for the blocc? This is how it’s done.
It’s 24 in the morning and Brotha Lynch Hung is high as fuck. He had the jack-off motion. 12 gauge in his trunk. Plus that bomb ass chronic from the Garden Blocc. And that motherfucker Doc had a Glock. So Lynch was cool like the brew he was sipping. The only thing he sees himself doing is getting high in the sky. And he likes to ruin kids with his 9 millimeter. Fuck wit the Garden Blocc and get your busta ass beat up. See what you do is like feel him on some shit. Because you know how others get when he gets to spittin’ shit. There ain’t no doubting him. Lynch is set tripping niggas apart like an ear blow fatality. Yeah, this is how it’s done. He’s got love for the blocc. Four times for the blocc.
Miller Park was the place the Garden Blocc set was hanging out at rolling 7 deep. Mr. Doctor was mackin’ to a hoe. He kept his fingers around a gat to protect his click from punk shit. The park’s hot at 11 o’clock. He’s watching out for niggas with a gat. Mr. Doctor sees a motherfucking gangsta scene with real niggas that gang bang. They Real niggas on their own team who are straight killas down for their shit. He’s seen the Creek (Elder Creek), the East, the Heights (Del Paso Heights), the Park (Oak Park), the View (Meadowview). Shit! The rival gangs and sets are motherfucking deep. And watch out for the ricochet rolls. Because that’s life in the city across the South Sac. Garden Blocc, deuce nine. Much love and no pity. This is how it’s done.
Mr. Doctors first verse was gangsta as fuck and raw. The explicit lyrics are what attracted audiences both young and old. If you notice and pay attention closely, he was dissing Bloods and Pirus all over Sacramento towards the very end of his verse.
Crossed the traccs, out at Burbank High
Late night, nigga felt nice
Came in through the hole in the fence
Threw up the mighty 9
Bloccstyle
Homies had the spot sewed up muthafuckas
Rollin’ wit the G-B-C down as fuck
All the O-G’s showed us what’s up
Every real nigga from 29th street
Kicked up a gang of dust
True, this is why we dedicate the rhyme
To the niggas from the G-B-C, rollin’ wit deuce nine
What’s the wild straight deuces?
And while the set’s in the city of Sacc
Ain’t got no truces
How it hurt when the homie Chaka-Locc moved on
How it hurt when the homie Q-Ball was gone
Nigga this is how we livin’
And ain’t nobody gave a fuck
While you niggas bullshittin’
Rival killa, murder his ass
In his faggot ass set
With his bitch made niggas
At the hamburger stand
Niggas don’t understand
How the fuck a bitch gonna stay out on the spot
Wit no love for the blocc
This is how it’s done nigga
I got love for the blocc
Nine times for the blocc nigga yeah
Brotha Lynch Hung killed his verse with straight laid blow flow in a gangsta tone. He comes out as raw, explicit, direct, and gangsta as fuck as Mr. Doctor did.
24 in the mornin’ and I’m high as fucc
Had the jack-off motion
12 gauge in my trunk
Plus that bomb ass chronic from the Garden Blocc
And that mutha fucka Doc had a Glock
So I was coo
Coo like the brew I be sippin’ on
Get yo gut rippin’ on
Wit yo what
Wit yo millimeter chrome
See the only thing I see doin’ is
Gettin’ high in the sky
And I like to ruin kids
Wit my 9 millimeter
Strap up, seat up
Fuck wit the Garden Blocc
And get yo busta ass beat up
See what you do is like feel me on some shit
And I’m a stay high, way high
Just in case my dome split, home sicc
For the mutha fuckin’ season, of the sicc
Cuz you know how others get
When I get to spittin’ shit
Isn’t it a mutha fuckin’ shame
Niggas wanna kill me
But still we became, indo’d out
And ain’t no mutha fuckin’ doubtin’ me
Me setripin’ niggas apart

I got love for the blocc
Four times for the blocc nigga yeah
I rate this album 5/5*****!!
