Review: Tricity Vogue’s All Girl Swing Band – Well Swung!

Well Swung! by Tricity Vogue’s All Girl Swing Band is the female answer to swing jazz music. This all female band put a swing into their cabaret sound on the album with songs such as Don’t Bring Lulu, Bowler Hat, Sweet Dreams, and Tainted Love. This album is one spectacular jazz album. There’s a lot of culture in their music.

Their cover of Eurythmics – Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) called Sweet Dreams is spectacular without any flaw. The girls definitely put the swing in the tempo, vocal, and instrumentation. This is one of those rare cases where the cover song is better than the original song. Sweet dreams are made of this. Everybody’s looking for something. Some of them want to use you. Some of them want to get used by you. Some of them want to abuse you. Some of them want to be abused.

Bowler Hat is the sharpest gentleman who wears a bowler hat whilst wearing suit and tie. One of the members of Tricity Vogue’s All Girl Swing Band just saw the nattiest guy looking so sharp. All dressed up in a suit and tie. And a brand new bowler hat. Shiny shoes on his nifty feet. But the thing that made his look complete was his brand new bowler hat. Just look at that bowler hat! He went walking down the street. The cut of his cloth made her smile. She would run that guy to ground by following his hat. So quick as a flash, she turned around. Her day’s new purpose had been found.

Don’t Bring Lulu is about this wild lady named Lulu who is the type of lady not to bring around. Lulu always wants to do what the folks don’t want her to. When she struts her stuff around, London bridge is falling down! Lulu gets blue and goes cuckoo like the clock upon the shelf. You can bring cake or a porterhouse steak, but don’t bring Lulu! Lulu has the reddest hair, auburn here and henna there. How can you boys keep your heads? Bulls go wild when they see red. When she gets sore and slams, the door the plates fly off the shelf. She can make a fella wild on sarsaparilla. She’s the kind of smarty and breaks up every party.

I rate this album 5/5*****!!
