Review: Little D – Lil D

The Little D album called Lil D – Lil D has that crossover appeal due to that pop rap sound. No Limit was influenced by the crossover market during that time. Even though Little D is a rapper, he leaned towards that pop sound. XL, C-Los, Master P, Silkk, and Lil Romeo were responsible for the production of his debut album.

The Little D album called Lil D – Lil D was supposed to be Little D’s second solo album on the No Limit label which was scheduled to be released in 2002. However that date got pushed back to some time in 2003 because of the focus on Lil Romeo at the time as Lil Romeo’s career was a top priority for the label. As a result of his popularity, Lil Romeo’s album was released before Lil D’s album.

The Little D album called Lil D – Lil D was first advertised in the album Choppa – Straight From The N.O. and was also advertised in the COMING SOON section of the album Magic – White Eyes back in 2003.

Not many people know this but Little D/Lil D (Donavin Hogan) is Lil Romeo’s who is from Houston, Texas. He and Romeo were tour mates during the early part of the 21st century. That’s the reason why Lil Romeo is all over his album. That’s also the reason why Little D was all over Lil Romeo’s sophomore album Game Time. Little D is also Silkk The Shocker’s nephew. These days Lil D goes by D The Business.

Clap Your Hands (Clap Yo Hands) is a silly children’s song with quirky synths and pads performed by Lil Romeo and Little D. The song is a duo. Clap Your Hands (Clap Yo Hands) was used on Lil Romeo’s 2002 album Game Time.

So if you like Lil Romeo, Little D, No Limit, and Master P, clap your hands. Little D loves ballin and flossin. He is not one for talking. He shops often. He has been in love ballin ever since started crawling. Girls calling while he’s performing. Little D is hot now. So he’s come here to shake the spot. Little D is in the 6th grade but you know he’s got bank. He rolls with a tank. Platinum iced out from his neck and wrist. He’s got a couple of candy girls that laid the zone. When the school bell rings, you know it’s on.

Play Like Us was recorded during the time Little D’s Meet Me At The Playground album was being recorded but was used on Lil Romeo’s Game Time album since he wrote a majority of the song. The song had featured Lil Romeo, Lil D, and Tyron. Play Like Us was Number 1 on the Billboard Charts for a while back in 2002. Play Like Us was played on a Static Shock episode called “Romeo In The Mix”. The song was also used seasons 1 and 2 of of The Romeo! Show.

All the girls gonna be at the playground where Lil Romeo and Lil D are So y’all know where they’re gonna be at. Holla. If you feeling Richie Rich play with the girlies screaming every day. And you can play your ice this way. But can they hate? No way.

Lil Romeo was the youngest solider from the No Limit tank who had got the game fitted with The New No Limit back in 2002. The Game Time album kept the No Limit tank afloat. From Romie Rome to Richie Rich. Don’t talk about dough ’cause he been had it. Learn the game quick and ya’ll know who the teacher is. He is number 1 on the Billboard Charts. Lil Romeo is half kid half amazing.

There ain’t too many players that could hang with Lil Romeo, Lil D, and Tryon. When they step up on the scene they are looking marvelous. All the haters say they ain’t old enough. When the beat go just throw your hands up. Better hold on tight cause we about to bust. All the girlies rushing up to the cadillac truck. Richie Rich and Tyron, can you dig it?

Lil Romeo knows about cars and clothes. He paid the cost to be the boss in this music game. Lil Romeo is from the South. So he bites like a gator. Another year passed so his game got greater. Court side seats for the Sixers and the Lakers. Check out the wrist ice big like a blazer. The kid got flavor. He’s where you wanna be. You can’t stop him.

Little D is in the 6th grade but you know he’s got bank. He rolls with a tank. Platinum iced out from his neck and wrist. He’s got a couple of candy girls that laid the zone. When the school bell rings, you know it’s on.

[Lil D]
Call Lil D and I roll wit a tank
I’m in the sixth grade but you know I got bank
Platinum iced out when I roll the fees
Yo when the school bell ring baby roll wit me
Chrome wheeling standing pink baby sittin on chrome
Iced out from my neck and my wrist all
Two Way Lil Romeo and you know it’s on
Got a couple candy girls that laid the zone

Bobblehead was a song memorable for its catchy lyrics and horns. The chorus is no exception. Everything about this song from the beats to the synths, horns, and pads along with lyrics screams mid-2000s. You can hear the influence Southern rap, pop rap, and children’s music have on this song. Bobblehead was the catchy lead single for his 2004 album Romeoland.

The song is memorable for its catchy lyrics and horns. The chorus is no exception. The catchy lyrics to the chorus which went like this.

[Chorus]
I didn’t come to run, I came to make you move
Take it to the floor, and act a fool
Shake it, shake it, shake it like a bobblehead
Shake it, shake it, shake it like a bobblehead

Now Lil Romeo does use some kid friendly lyrics in the song such as “You got ants in your pants and you need to dance Bounce up and down like a rubberband”

Here are some of the catchy lyrics that were used in the song.

Work ya body, move your feet
Bounce it like a ball, shake it to the beat

Go shorty, it’s your birthday
Like you school bell ring on the first day
Move it like a fly girl

You got ants in your pants and you need to dance
Bounce up and down like a rubberband

Lil Romeo didn’t come to run. He came to make you move. So take it to the floor and act a fool. Shake it, shake it, shake it like a bobblehead.

Romeo’s in the house and the party is pumpin’. The crowd is jumpin’. Everyone is ecstatic. Work your body and move your feet. Bounce it like a ball and shake it to the beat. Go shorty, it’s your birthday. Like you school bell ring on the first day. Move it like a fly girl.

Lil D is in here. You know that his wrist glow. If you came to party, shorty, you and Lil D can take it to the floor. If your girl wants to leave, Lil D suggests you let her go. So you better stay in line.

Making moves like a rollercoaster. Lean low then shake them shoulders. But first, you gotta bounce to this. Lil D’s chain so icy even his diamonds got diamonds. Lil D was born to be a soldier and has got a heart of a lion. No Limit don’t mess with no fakers. They’ll make you lose your squad like the LA Lakers.

Lil Romeo is just chillin and them girls are partying. He is trying to see if they can move like Indians. You know work it a little bit. Dip it low a little bit like Christina Milian. Lil Romeo is like 50 and Young Buck because he always roll with banks. So you know what’s up.

If you don’t like Lil Romeo, then you not with him. But its most likely that he’s got the tank with him all over the globe, He is a coast to coast G. A living legend like Mike and Kobe. If you don’t know then don’t speak about him. His flow too sick and too hard to fix. You’ll probably need some medical attention for this.

Lil Romeo pays homage and tribute to The Notorious B.I.G. with these lyrics in Verse 1. “Girl you looking cute, you came to dance/I’m like Biggie, baby give me one more chance”

I rate this album 3/5***.
