Review: Black Mob Klan – Comin Up

Black Mob Klan – Comin Up has that dark Memphis trap sound. Mr. Maceo produced the entire album. The beats Mr. Maceo used were way ahead of their time. He was the one who orchestrated the dark nihilistic sound and the gangster sound for the album. Mr. Maceo’s production is fire as always. Black Mob Klan – Comin Up is one of the many sought after Memphis rap albums many people want.

Black Mob Klan – Comin Up is of the many lost albums from Street Start Records that Street Start Records was supposed to have released but never did. This is because Black Mob Klan – Comin Up is one of the Street Smart Records releases that were stolen when several masters to the Street Smart Records albums/releases got stolen in a home invasion back in 2001. Most of those Street Smart tapes were trashed or stolen when Tommy’s in-house studio was robbed around that time. A lot of shady shit in Memphis has happened over the years when it comes to music.

Now this album was sold around Memphis, Tennessee in a limited amount of qualities in 2009 on CD-r which were sold by Mr. Maceo. Mr. Maceo just used whatever recordings he had on his masters to sell a CD-r back then. There were all the songs Mr. Maceo and Tommy Wright III were able to recover and retrieve. Thats why it’s only 19 minutes long. So the album did get released.

Here is one thing that can be as confirmed by Trill Hill Tapes. However it turns out that the recording of Black Mob Klan – Comin Up was never finished along with Insane Wayne – Wiggin’ Out, Boss Bytch – Boss Of All Bosses, Suave – Shank & Kill, and Candy Lady – 4 Ever Hate Me.

I rate this album 4/5****!
