Review: Mount Westmore – BAD MFs

Mount Westmore – BAD MFs is one bad ass West Coast rap album that is destined to put the West Coast of the United States back on the music map. The album has a mixture of G-Funk and Bay Area mobb music over hyphy styled beats and saccharine synthesizers. You will her mean bass slaps and bass lines throughout the album along with heavy lyricism. BAD MFs is the debut album from West Coast supergroup Mount Westmore which consists of E-40, Snoop Dogg, Too $hort, and Ice Cube. The album was released exclusively through a series of individual-purchase NFTs in 2022. The supergroup’s debut album was initially released via blockchain.

The West Coast supergroup explains how they can take a nigga out the ghetto, but can’t take the ghetto out of a nigga. It ain’t where you from, it’s how you come. That is the synopsis of Ghetto Gutter.

The big homie E-40 gives us some useful advice based off experience when he says this, “They can take a nigga out the ghetto. But not the ghetto out a nigga. It ain’t where you from, it’s how you come.” It’s not where you’re from. It’s how you represent and conduct yourself. E-40 brought listeners mannish mob music music for the mob that is blowin’ out your speakers and slappin’ in your AirPod.

Culturally speaking, the West Coast supergroup went tribal on the song Tribal by digging into their African roots and mentioning African heroes and warriors in their lyrics. One example is when Snoop Dogg mentions Shaka Zulu in these lyrics, “Go to war with the Zulu, and I’m Shaka” Snoop Dogg went tribal on this song.

As per usual, Ice Cube’s lyrics are woke on a socially conscious level and a political level. Ice Cube went tribal on this song. He discusses how white slave owners went to Africa to capture black people and turn them into slaves. Ice Cube also tells black people to revolt by telling fuck Thanksgiving.

[Verse 2: Ice Cube]
Who is that goddamn (Who the fuck is that?)
Walkin’ on my land?
He lookin’ like the white man (Them folks)
We should go and fight them (Nigga)
Y’all wanna like them? (What?)
No, we should go and kill them (Yes)
If we don’t kill them (What? What?)
He come back with his children (Tell ’em)
Feed you his religion (Teach)
Now we livin’ like pigeons
Man, fuck Thanksgiving (Fuck Thanksgiving)
This seem like a takin’ (Yes)
Why are we fakin’ (Why?)
Weak-ass nigga, stop shakin’ (Stop it)
Man, fuck they bacon (Fuck ’em)
Make the earth start quakin’

On Lace You Up, E-40, Snoop Dogg, Too $hort, and Ice Cube give the new generation which is the younger generation game which consists of useful advice, experience, and educational tips. Here’s some advice from your big homies. Straight from the OGs. The song uses some mean bass slaps that leaves ripples in your speakers and rattle you headphones.

I rate this album 4/5****.
