Review: CZR ‎– Muzik Expedition E.P.

CZR ‎– Muzik Expedition E.P. will surely take you on a musical expedition and journey through house music. This CZR EP uses a combination of electronic and techno thus creating a tech house combustion. International House Records puts out the best tech house singles from Chicago. However a majority of these songs are produced in low quality. Usually International House Records produces such high quality house records that are perfect. However this release is not one of those high quality house records normally put out.

Digital Funktion is similar to early electronic music as the production and sound quality is set very low. Similar to 70s electronic music. Digital Funktion is one of CZR’s harder tech house songs which uses techno based beats.

Ghetto Booty is known for using buildups and a hilarious vocal sample which makes the song classic. You will laugh your ass of when you hear the vocal sample “Put it in my face!”. The buildups for this song starts around 0:58 and 1:45. This is one awesome house song.

Celesta is driven a large kick drum and a set of shakers. A tambourine is also adde to the mix between the background of techno beats and low volume electro synths. The sound quality for this song is set way too low for song produced by CZR or International House Records. Usually International House Records produces such high quality house songs that are perfect. However that is not the case with this song which is disappointing to many.

I rate this EP 2/5**.

Review: CZR ‎– Abstract Muzik E.P.

CZR ‎– Abstract Muzik E.P. has some of the best bangin’ tracks to ever have come from the Chicago house scene. This EP incorporates many different genres of music such as jazz, dance, Latin, and techno. This house release is not your typical house release as CZR does not rely solely on electronic or techno but instead many different genres of music. CZR ‎– Abstract Muzik E.P. is the best Chicago house release of 1995.

The song Ghetto Muzik uses a touch of techno, Chicago house, and dance. Notice all those distorted over house styled dance beats. Ghetto Muzik was the song that was constantly being played at all those house parties back in the days.

The song Jazz muzik uses a fusion and combination of house and jazz music. Notice the horn sample over a thumpin’ bass line backed behind a timpani drum and a kick drum. That horn sample is what gives this song a jazz edge and vibe. Jazz meets house on the song Jazz muzik.

The old school jam Banda Muzik is known for sampling Latin music. Banda Muzik samples music from Banda Z over modern house beats. Now those house beats are what give this song a modern edge yet the old school sound remains intact and unscathed. Banda Muzik was another one of those songs that was constantly being played at all those house parties back in the days all over Chicago.

Now the reputable hard house song Structure not only flooded the Chicago scene. The song also flooded the Los Angeles scene in 1995. Structure had massive amount of air play on the radio in both cities. The song is decent despite the repetitive nature of the electric synths and house beats.

I rate this EP 5/5*****!!

Review: Joker The Bailbondsman – Bipolar

Joker The Bailbondsman – Bipolar is a classic Alaska rap album/Alaskan rap album which only real OG Alaskans know about that was released during 2004. Joker did it the biggest as he was the biggest rap star out of the AK. Joker was always on his grind. Who knew Anchorage rap could be so dope? Alaska rap/Alaskan rap album is sorely overlooked. This album was more commercial sounding and club oriented than his previous albums.

Ladies Coming Over is about the all the ladies who are coming to Joker The Bailbondsman’s house to party. There was a music video for Ladies Coming Over which was seldomly played on BET’s BET Uncut in 2004.

Joker The Bailbondsman has some ladies coming over to his house this evening. All of these fine ladies home come to Joker The Bailbondsman’s house to party and drink on Hennessy. They are smoking tree’s in Anchorage at night. They are about to get into some freaky shit before they leave Joker The Bailbondsman’s house.

Money In A Ziploc Bag was the dope classic that was played in clubs across the state of Alaska back in 2004. Money In A Ziploc Bag briefly put Alaska rap/hip hop on the map. This was the edited version and not the dirty version people demanded for. There was a music video for Money In A Ziploc Bag which was seldomly played on BET’s BET Uncut in 2004.

You can hear pain and anger in Bizzy Bone’s verse the same time. His verse was the unique and poetic verse on the song. The lyrics to his verse, which was Verse 1, went like this.

I don’t give a fuck if you from Cali
You don’t wanna see Bizzy Bone in a deep dark alley
In a row where the hood go you know
When we burn the clubs and get at it
Drunker than a yiddy mop splitty mop
See them in the club and we hit em with the big shit
Big enough for the wig split, big weed and big chips
Mo nuts, mo gunz, more heart, no love for them sharks momma
Hit em with the mini mack and its like that
Tell him bring on the drama, drama
Said its all about the karma, I don’t know
But maybe if you digged inside you will find a reminder of all your life
Times is tough, and if your up then nuff said
I don’t give a fuck, I don’t give a fuck
Come along the way and ill be there when they all are gone
Said I would lay some more heat yeah yeah
Well then in this case well then I will say that beneath me my life is hard
Tell them I was destined with two heats in the book of psalms
Tell them I was destined with two heats in the book of psalms

Bizzy Bone don’t give a fuck if you are from Cali or wherever else you are from. You don’t wanna see Bizzy Bone in a deep dark alley in a row where the hood goes, you know. Especially when they burn the clubs and get at it drunker than a yiddy mop/splitty mop. See them in the club as they hit theem with the big shit. Big enough for the wig split. Big weed and big chips. No love for them sharks, momma.

Joker The Bailbondsman explains how people want to see him fall and fail at life in his song called Loser’s Bracket. The guitar makes the song dark and very bleak sounding. Loser’s Bracket is one of the darker songs on the album. The song used samples from Brotha Lynch Hung – 24 Deep and dope ass sample from that part in the movie called Juice.

I rate this album 5/5*****!

Review: Joker The Bailbondsman – Gather Near, Joker’s Here!!

Joker The Bailbondsman – Gather Near, Joker’s Here!! is a classic Alaska rap album/Alaskan rap album which only real OG Alaskans know about. Most people don’t have the album because the album was released on CD and cassette only by the Anchorage, Alaska based record label Inlet City Records in 1997. CDs were compulsory for all musical wants and needs back then. That’s why this album is so hard to find. Joker did it the biggest as he was the biggest rap star out of the AK. Joker was always on his grind. Who knew Anchorage rap could be so dope? Alaska rap/Alaskan rap album is sorely overlooked. Those G-Funk style basslines and synths make the album enjoyable to listen to.

So much dank is filled with those dope G-Funk style basslines, chords, and synths. The basslines are what make the song stand out the most. The song goes hard. Now only real OG Alaskans know about this song.

Fantasies of an erection is one of those low quality rap songs which can be considered karaoke rap due to the quality in Joker’s vocals. The song Fantasies of an erection is about the wet dream Joker had about fucking this bitch. The song is an Anchorage version of Klondike Kat – Check Yo Bitch and Too $hort – Freaky Tales.

Do what you do uses those dope whirly organ chords you would hear in church or an orchestra. Those whirly organ chords have a warped effect to them. All to make the song more captivating.

Stuck in a cell (Baby J live from McLaughlin Youth Center) is an Anchorage classic. For those who don’t know, Alaska was bout it. Only real OG Alaskans know about this song. Baby J was incarcerated at the McLaughlin Youth Center at the time song was recorded. Unsurprisingly the low is very low quality.

Niggas aint ready for this explains how niggas aren’t ready for Joker The Bailbondsman’s style of rap. Joker did it the biggest as he was the biggest rap star out of the AK. Joker was always on his grind.

I rate this album 4/5****.
