Review: Dertybird – Dertybird

Dertybird – Dertybird is a unique and interesting rock release. The front cover is ostrich wearing a Derby hat in a Victorian/Edwardian style formal dress suit for the daytime. The ostrich is a linen English style overcoat walking with a cane. The ostrich is probably on a day stroll enjoying the posh fine weather. Not with a mate of course. The back reminds of the 90s and 2000s Sub Pop early artwork style.

There are only 3 songs which makes this an EP of course. The duration of the tracks are the average of any early grunge demo tracks were in the 80s. The average duration of the tracks on here are 2 to 3 minutes long at that. The three tracks on this single are She Likes It, Here, and Edna with Edna being the shortest track of the three. Dertybird is a rock band from the ATX. Austin, Texas that is. This EP was released on CD in 2007.

Edna is a rather short love ballad about a woman or girl named Edna. This is an intense love ballad. Not to mention that the vocals are intense too. Never knew that a song such as this composition would be so intense. Clayton is very clear with his vocals.

I rate this EP 4/5****.
