Deceased rapper Soulja Slim was a legend in the New Orleans music circuit. Master P even referred to Soulja Slim as New Orleans 2Pac. Master P said, “We loved Soulja Slim. He was our 2Pac.” He was well respected in the New Orleans street.

The unsolved mystery of the murder of New Orleans legend and “No Limit” rap star, Soulja Slim, is one of the most complex murder cases in NOLA rap history. His murder is still discussed today by people to the point of there being conspiracy theories. Some people believe that someone was paid to kill Soulja Soulja and that person is still living today. This can be attributed to the fact that Soulja Slim was a street dude who knew drug deals and users because he was deep in these NOLA streets.

One person believed his death was caused and instigated by a diss track called “You Gonna Feel Me” with lyrics that made overt threats towards Master P. However that was just a rumor because of the diss track. Local residents say Soulja Slim’s murder might have been retribution for a crime he committed either in the 1990s or 2000s.

A reporter/interviewer from Hip Hop Homicides talked to some of the people who believed to have known to have killed Soulja Slim. Soulja Slim had an episode devoted to his murder case in Hip Hop Homicides (Season 1 Episode 5 Soulja Slim). That episode of Hip Hop Homicides showed the public how deeply homicide is embedded in hip hop/rap culture. Soulja Slim’s murder is another hip hop homicide case that has yet to be solved. His murder case is a grim reminder of homicide is embedded in hip hop/rap culture.
