Dirty Jerk recorded his first EP Poor & Unknown Click with legendary Michigan producer Gee Pierce at U Be U Studios in Saginaw, Michigan during the 1990s. Humps, Clepto, Gee Pierce, Dirty Jerk and Mack Tha Jacka helped produce the EP. U Be U Studios and Skanless Family contributed big time for this EP along with others that had helped. This cassette came out in 1994.
Dirty Jerk is dope G-Funk out of Saginaw Michigan! The wicked bass and that G-Funk sound on this album will remind you of Above The Law. The whole album is fucking sick!! Dirty Jerk goes straight up reggae on the entire half of this album. So this EP has that raw cold skanless Saginaw sound. At the same time Dirty Jerk put out this EP, he promoted his Poor & Unknown Click from Cornelia Street located on the Eastside of Saginaw that never really took off. His Poor & Unknown Click included members such as himself, Hump, Clepto, Lethal Lega C, and others. (Also Dirty Jerk was a member of the Skanless Family and Cornelia Street Hustlers. Dirty Jerk was a Reggae/Rap artist from Saginaw, Michigan.)
It’s just too bad that Dirty Jerk did not get the promotion and push he truly deserved. He should’ve had more money to do so. Dirty Jerk had the talent and the personality make it but just never got that break. If Dirty Jerk and the Skanless Family had money for promotion towards their albums, then they would be on the same level as Bone Thugs N Harmony is today.
Anyway… The intro was real dope. It’s short. It’s a Skanless Family telling us about who Dirty Jerk is. The intro tells us who Dirty Jerk really is. The intro itself is short but self-explanatory. Humps and Clepto produced this introduction at U Be Studios. Suck A Mean One is to all the haters out there. Dirty Jerk tells all them haters out there bluntly to just Suck A Mean One. The bass is reduced to a lower level oddly.
Niggaz Ain’t Here is a dedication the ones who done passed away, the OG’s, and the father figures who weren’t present. Niggaz Ain’t Here is subtle track that calms down the albums mood. The 90s G-Funk sounds also fairly prevalent here. Humps and Clepto produced this at U Be Studios.
Dirty Dirt Bag is another self-explanatory track just like the introduction telling us who Dirty Jerk really is and what he is all about. Humps and Clepto produced this introduction at U Be Studios. Dirty Jerk lent a hand in production as well.
Dirty Dirt Bag is a track has that G-Funk sound! Dirty Jerk goes straight up reggae on this one! The samples are crazy. Humps and Clepto use a sample of Slick Rick – The Rulers Back. (Just listen closely and you can tell.) The distorted drums and bass are very loud so this song is not recommended for small speakers. The bass is super heavy! Dirty Dirt Bag is more upbeat than the other tracks.
Reggae meets rap on Dirty Dirt Bag. Dirty Jerk goes straight up reggae on this one by using a Jamaican Patois accent in a rudeboy style. He masters the Jamaican Patois accent he uses and tools with a rudeboy sound & style. That is how reggae meets rap on the track Dirty Dirt Bag.
Dirty Jerk walks around the motherfucking city like a savage beast. Dirty Jerk keeps a .44 Mag on him at all times. The city of Saginaw is rough and rugged place. The streets there are raw. He doesn’t care about shit. That’s why he shoots cops. If you are not selling cocaine, then your ass is broke. You better get a hustle. If someone tries to stop Dirty Jerk from selling cocaine, then he drops them. Dirty Jerk’s a dirty dirt bag.
Dirty Jerk wants to blow up the White House as a peace offering from an anti-war movement. Dirty Jerk wants to blow up the White House as a humanitarian effort to end all wars that the United States is involved in. He wants to shoot at all those inside the White House. His plan to blow up the White House is an effort to get those wars to stop. This is Dirty Jerk’s solution to peace.
Dirty Jerk lives his life in the street with no remorse or regards toward anyone. He doesn’t follow the rules. He has no remorse towards anyone. He shows no regard for the rules. He doesn’t care. Nor does he show any regret for his actions. His state is set through the mind of a madman.
Hells Of Cornelius is about the daily life in the Eastside of Saginaw located on Cornelia Street that Dirty Jerk constantly faces on a daily basis. Dirty Jerk tells lurid horrifying details and aspects of the criminal lifestyle. Life of a hustler knows no boundaries or limitations. Hells Of Cornelius also discusses the gang rivalry between Cornelia Street Hustlers and other Saginaw street gangs. The wicked bass and that G-Funk sound will remind you of Above The Law. The whole track is fucking sick!!
Reggae meets rap on Hells Of Cornelius. Dirty Jerk goes straight up reggae on this one too by using a Jamaican Patois accent in a rudeboy style. He masters the Jamaican Patois accent he uses and tools with a rudeboy sound & style in other words. That is how reggae meets rap on the track Hells Of Cornelius.
At the beginning, there is a woman screaming “Help me!!!” along with a baby crying and howling in the background, which has that horror movie sample sound. The bass will rattle your speakers heavily! This song is not recommended for small speakers. Dirty Jerk proclaims himself as the “Original Rudeboy” Saginaw, Michigan.(Notice how the very beginning how Dirty Jerk uses a Jamaican rudeboy accent.) He also makes a reference to a Satanic ritual by saying he will drink someones blood which can be viewed as a reference to Satanism. Such as Wiccans for example. Dirty Jerk warns us to step back.
Now Dirty Jerk takes us on a journey down Cornelia Street through a criminal’s perspective set inside a criminal mindset. This is also viewed through a black males perspective. Dirty Jerk admits he can’t stand to make it in his own neighborhood because of the nasty environment which he is forced to face. He says his own neighborhood is nasty. Dirty Jerk says these niggaz that are low, down, and dirty are up to no good. It’s real hard out there to be a g. That’s just life in the Sag Nasty.
Dirty Jerk talks about how he and his brother Brad were partners in crime at one time. When bullets hit people, they can feel the impact that hurts them. Bullets do burn. People do get hurt by these bullets. He can’t afford to loose his life to a bullet. Dirty Jerk has a wild and crazy life. These young gangsters devote their lives to crime at the age of 12 only end up incarcerated in jail or deceased at the age of 21. Some of these young gangsters wind up ultimately in the penitentiary. Dirty Jerk keeps a pistol on him at all times. Cornelia Street is real hard. The criminal lifestyle is a living hell especially on Cornelia Street.
Dirty Jerk and his click (Cornelia Street Hustlers) got together to form a retaliation plan against their enemies. Cornelia Street Hustlers committed an act of driveby shooting towards a rival gang located on Genesee Street. These enemies Cornelia Street Hustlers has beef with is rival gang Burt Street Boys (Burt Boys). Cornelia Street Hustlers have been having feuds with Burt Street Boys for many years. Dirty Jerk and Cornelia Street Hustlers are dressed in black because they are getting ready to commit a robbery. (Cornelia Street Hustlers is Dirty Jerk’s clique. So is Cornelia Street Hustlers.)
Dirty Jerk used to play around, but now he prays ever since he got popped. His life is based on a criminal lifestyle. A lot people on the streets of Saginaw snitch. He desperately needs money. The only way Dirty Jerk can make it out of his own neighborhood is if he makes it big as a rapper. His mother is praying on her knees that Dirty Jerk does not end up like his brother Brad. Dirty Jerk does not want to live life broke. He needs a hustle. The shit that he kicks is super real. Super realistic that is.
I rate this album 5/5*****!!
