Review: Caravan Palace – Chronologic

Caravan Palace – Chronologic gave a electro music a breath of fresh air with contemporary electronic music production and sound. Their sound is more modernized in comparison to their Panic album. In fact Caravan Place strayed far away from their usual electro swing roots by solely using modern electronic production and using a more electronic music based song.

About You is about how a big girl named Zoé Colotis who sweeps who sweeps a gentleman named Charles X off his feet due to her tall height and dominant traits. She dominates him in terms of height because she is a big girl who is taller than him when she doesn’t wear her high heels. She doesn’t give a damn about Charles X. He’ll never know how to deal with Zoé.

About You leans towards using a more electronic based sound rather than just solely using electro swing. The electronic based sound gives the song a modernized contemporary feeling. The song is a Zoé Colotis/Charles X duo.

Zoé Colotis is a big girl with cash and wheels. She is taller than her when she doesn’t wear her high heels. She doesn’t give a damn about her height. She doesn’t give a damn that she is taller than Charles X when she doesn’t wear her high heels. Charles X will never know how to deal with Zoé. She doesn’t give a damn about him. There is big trouble inside when she hits the spot. She likes to hang out and lay down her block. Zoé sweeps Charles X off of his feet due to her tall height and dominant traits.

Zoé Colotis tells Charles X, “Well, I’m a big girl with cash and wheels. I’m taller than you when I don’t wear heels. And I don’t give a damn. You’ll never know how to deal with me. Big trouble inside when I hit the spot. I like to hang out, lay down my block. And I don’t give a damn about you.”

Charles X admits that her high heels take him higher and sweep him off of his feet. He is taken aback by her tall height as her height difference is something he very aware of. She dominates him in terms of height because she is a big girl who is taller than him when she doesn’t wear heels. He loves when Zoé wears her high heels.

Charles X persuades Zoé to let her talk not take him under. He asks her to give him one night to keep him over. What he really intends on doing is taking her on higher level of love and trust in their relationship.

This is what Charles X tells Zoé, “Still, will you let me over so your talk won’t take me under? Now can you give me one night to keep me over? So I can take you higher as the world goes up in fire”

Zoé tells Charles X she is a tough girl who doesn’t need anybody. She does not need a gold digger, a sugar baby, or a sugar daddy to be in her life. Zoé tells Charles X he’ll never know how to deal with her. She also tells him that she won’t be the loser if he still wants to play the game. Everyone knows Zoé would never choose Charles X to be her man. She tells him that she does not give a damn about him. She also tells him he cannot find a proper way to please her.

Zoé turns Charles X by saying, “But I’m a tough girl and don’t need anybody.N ot a gold digger. Not a sugar baby I don’t give a damn about. You’ll never know how to deal with me. Still wanna play the game? I won’t be the loser. Everyone knows I would never choose ya. I don’t give a damn about you. Can’t find a proper way to please me.”

Charles X asks Zoé to help him as he cannot help the way he feels about her. He never said to her that his love was foolproof. But Zoé knows that he know that she love him. This is something he is fully aware of.

Charles X asks Zoé to help him. He asks her, “Can you help me? And if the car comes equipped with a moon roof, then the stars will surely help with the mood we’re in now. I can’t help the way I feel. Because I never said that my love was foolproof. But you know that I know that you love me too, now.”

He also asks Zoé, “Still, will you let me over so your talk won’t take me under? Now can you give me one night to keep me over? So I can take you higher as the world goes up in fire”

Melancolia deals with the pressure of dealing with fame and how being famous is not all what it’s cracked up to be. Living the famous life is not always glamorous and glorious.

Zoé remembers driving her 80 kilometer (50 mile) journey. She saw no lines on her way while driving down the road. She was feeling guilty and losing ground as she was on her high bar. Zoé was setting up her own shame and self-pity. What Zoé wanted was to do was bring back her old flame or she would be long gone. She was just not getting used to all the things she pushes through. In other words she feel unplugged from life itself. Suicide is something Zoé contemplates on doing. There are no more words she can use to explain how she feels.

She was up ahead. No one could’ve chased her as she going at a high speed when she was driving down the road. Zoé didn’t feel that fame would change me. She was facing old fears. Losing more sleep. For whatever the reason(s) may be or may have been, Zoé’s life of fame is now gone. She should’ve seen it coming her way because nothing lasts forever. What a lifetime.

The lyrics explain how the famous life is not always glamorous and glorious. And how it’s not all cracked what it’s to be.

[Pre-Chorus: Zoé Colotis]
Anyway, I’m setting up my own shame
Bring me back my old flame
Or I’ll be long gone, love me world
Just not getting used to
All the things I push through
I feel unplugged, no more words

[Chorus: Titus]
I was up ahead, no-one could’ve chased me
Going high speed, didn’t feel that fame would change me
Facing old fears, am I gonna stay here?
Losing more sleep
Surely gonna die before I wake
I was up ahead, no-one could’ve chased me
Going high speed, didn’t feel that fame would change me
What a lifetime, nothing lasts forever
All is gone now, should’ve seen it coming my way

Zoé sees how much her fanbase misses her. She is writing lines every day even if there is nothing to say. Yes, she is feeling guilty. She was aiming so far and was feeling awesome herself.

Waterguns explains how the members of Caravan Palace will fun using water guns. The song is about being young and carefree. They tell us to be young in the present moment and to be carefree. That is why the song Waterguns has a carefree vibe, feeling, mood, and sound. Overall Waterguns has a youthful nostalgic theme. Think about how you live and think about what you give is the message of the song.

Has anybody ever shared the news? You ain’t as big as you say. Tom Bailey of Caravan Palace has got a vision worth something in him. He is not too worried about a thing. So tell him what you really believe in. Always caught up in your own mind. He’s got a feeling that something’s about to change.

Tom Bailey says the members of Caravan Palace will be dumb soon save the world. So we should be young right now. We would be more fun with waterguns.

Has anybody ever shared the news? Two can live in different ways without a care and with nothing to prove. Not too worried about a thing. Everything’s gonna be alright. Be young in the present moment and be carefree. So we should be young right now. Think about how you live and think about what you give. Think about how we lived together. Think about being kids forever. Just think about this. Remember. We would be more fun. We will be dumb soon. We would be more fun with waterguns.

Plume is a bright electro swing song about having a good time.

The lyrics at the very beginning of Plume are in Spanish. Compare the Spanish lyrics to the English lyrics below.

[Spanish lyrics]
Mira hacia el cielo pajarillo
Hasta que puedas alcanzarlo
Hambre, miedo, frío alondrita
Ya se acaba tu calvario
Pajarito

[English lyrics]
Look up to the sky little bird
Until you can reach it
Hungry, afraid, cold lark
your ordeal is over
Birdie

When riding on my feathers, I can lead you through the patterns we now follow. Lying on the floor, life between us lights a solid afterglow. We are gonna have a good time. Waving by and by. Oh we found fun over there. I’ll take you to the sun all the way. It’s gonna be crazy all night. I can see us through the starry night when riding on your feathers. Our shadows are high above the floor like two demons trying to find a brighter soul.

I rate this album 5/5*****!
