Review: Jewel-T – Rock Nice

Jewel-T – Rock Nice has that LL Cool J influence due to the charisma, sound, style, and production used. The single has that raw Philly sound! Back when East Coast rap was good. Jewel-T was one of the hottest rappers from Philly when this single was out back in 1987. This is one of the lesser known hip hop singles from the 80s which did receive some moderate spins on the radio and underground clubs.

Andre McFadden recorded Ride The Crossfade on a radio station called Power 99 back in 1986. The song was performed on the radio. Hype, sick, and dope are three words which can be used to described this recording. Jewel-T was one of the hottest rappers from Philly when this song was out. People used to go crazy when this was played on the radio. The song clearly has that LL Cool J influence due to sound, style, and production which is used. Only the 40+ and up crowd will know this.

I Like It Loud has dope beats and rhymes. The track also uses some dope vinyl cuts too. The track is undeniably perfect in every way and sense. Only the 40+ and up crowd will appreciate this.

Rock Nice was smash hit that was released prior to this single being released. People used to go crazy when this was played on the radio. The track relies heavily on the sample of Jackson 5 – I Want You Back for musical backing.

I rate this single 5/5*****!!
