Review: Lil Romeo – Game Time

Lil Romeo – Game Time was the follow-up album to his 2001 debut album. While Lil Romeo’s 2002 album Game Time was not as successful as his debut album, nearly every song is memorable due to the beats and production. Those hard banging beats stood the test of time. Even today those beats produced by Mike Diesel and XL stand out. Lil Romeo’s Game Time album is a kid friendly pop rap album that is family friendly no doubt. Everything from love ballads, nursery rhymes, to freestyles are included. The album has that crossover appeal due to that pop rap sound and production of course.

Clap Your Hands (Clap Yo Hands) is a silly children’s song with quirky synths and pads performed by Lil Romeo and Lil D. The song is a duo. Clap Your Hands (Clap Yo Hands) was used on Lil Romeo’s 2002 album Game Time.

So if you like Lil Romeo, Lil D, No Limit, and Master P, clap your hands. Lil D loves ballin and flossin. He is not one for talking. He shops often. He has been in love ballin ever since started crawling. Girls calling while he’s performing. Lil D is hot now. So he’s come here to shake the spot. Little D is in the 6th grade but you know he’s got bank. He rolls with a tank. Platinum iced out from his neck and wrist. He’s got a couple of candy girls that laid the zone. When the school bell rings, you know it’s on.

Still Be There is a rendition and beautiful cover of Teena Marie – Young Love with a kid friendly twist. Sera Lynn sings beautifully on the chorus. This cover of Teena Marie – Young Love which will just blow your ears away. Honestly this cover version of Young Love is the best cover so far next to Lisa Amos cover. Lil Romeo explains that he will still be there for their love whether young or old.

Lil Romeo remembers way back in them kindergarten classes during snack time the way she her smile used to shine. How they used to line up in a single file line with their classmates to recess. She was watching Lil Romeo develop his basketball skills. She took his heart away.

A few years have passed and Lil Romeo has still has the same feelings. He got more popular with the fame as a rap star, actor, and basketball player. He doesn’t know if there is something. All his friends tell him to concentrate and keep his grades good as the NBA is in his future. It’s puppy love. It’s more like a crush and they can keep it on the hush.

They are in the 7th grade now and Lil Rome is stunnin like a super star referee making it as an all star point guard and it’s funny because he still feels the same way. She’s noticed that he is lookin her way. But through it all she is still shy. They can still grow together and they can still stay strong. Young girl, why you wanna grow older? Young or old baby I’ma still be there.

The song Too Long marked Lil Romeo’s comeback for 2002. This reintroduced him to the pop market and overgrowing rap scene. He dedicated the song to everyone who ever supported him.

This song is going out to all his fans that bought his albums. They keep a smile on Romeo’s face every time he waves. He gives them acknowledgment and props for helping him shine and giving him a chance. Lil Romeo couldn’t be himself without his fans. Lil Romeo loves music but really does it for ya’ll. This is for the kids from state to state. It’s a wonderful feeling whenever he walks through the mall. Love, admiration, and support is what he needs. It’s a wonderful thing. Can’t believe he stayed away too long. Did Lil Romeo leave your mind when he was gone? Whoever thought that a 12 year old could touch souls?

When times are hard and you’re breaking in tears, just look on your side because he’ll be right there. Okay. Rest In Peace to everybody in the world that passed.

Lil Romeo boasts and brags about his wealth on the song Richie Rich. He also boasts about his success as a rapper and basketball player. Richie Rich is based on the song and sample of Special Ed’s “I Got It Made”.

Romeo is your idol with the highest title. He’s got the gift to speak and its a blessing so listen the lesson he preaches. He talks with a sense of cadence to the phone of his poem. He’s knowledge from the toe to the top of his dome. He’s young but his tongue speaks maturity. Lil Romeo has it made as he is rich.

He is talented and gifted. Money ain’t nothing to him as he makes a million dollars with every record that he records. Lil Romeo makes fresh rhymes daily.

Lil Romeo is spoiled because everything that he wants he has got made. He wanted gear. He’s got everything from cotton and suede. He ears money from royalties every time his music videos are played. His hair was growing too long. So he got his hair braided. And when his dishes got dirty, he got himself a maid. And when the weather was hot he found himself a spot in the shade. He is wise because of his top grades.

Lil Romeo and Master P will make you dance with their song Make U Dance. The song uses simplistic rhymes in a kid friendly manner. The song is a follow-up and continuation of the song Make You Dance from his 2001 debut album.

If you wanna dance, I’ma make you dance. And if you wanna move, I’ma make you move. But if you down with No Limit say Romeo. No Limit. Respect it. It’s game time and Lil Romeo came to win it. He is getting paid off his skills. The ballin’ ain’t easy. The girls love him and you know the game needs him. The Miller boys are holdin’ it down with Romeo on the The New No Limit.

Fans get crazy whenever he goes to the mall. There are autograph signings when he walks in the door. He has done did a whole lot and is barely a teenager. The P. Miller gear he wears is so clean. It’s his raps or how he plays basketball. Still lone and seen.

A baby hummer wasn’t enough for Lil Romeo. So he had to purchase himself a Jaguar. Lil Romeo does not lie about anything. Look at his father Master P. He’s got the south on lock and sound on lock. Whodie, he is the best here. No Limit sweats and sneakers are the best gear. The girls love him when I step on the stage with his baby face going and his hair in the braids. He acknowledges that his body guards hate when he stops and waves. Lil Romeo has been in more cities than birthdays. The Miller boys are holdin’ it down with Romeo on the The New No Limit.

You know Romeo travels worldwide from the west to the east. He can’t drive. So instead he has a chauffeur to transport him places. He can’t drive. So in the passenger seat. Girls are constantly chasing him around. He is platinum plus, whodie. Check the fan mail. Who’s stopping him now? You know he’s got the club jumpin’ like Destiny’s Child. Lil Romeo’s a mini-millionaire. Pick a park to play. Six Flags, baby girl. You can have it your way.

Now there are differences in the lyrics to the 2002 version versus the 2001 version. Compare the lyrics from both versions to each other and read them. Afficial’s verses are not in the 2002 version for whatever reason(s). Lil Zane’s verse did not appear on the 2002 version due to a rights issue. He was signed to Priority Records at the time and Universal Records needed permission to include his verse on the 2002 version. Allusion aka Erica Fox sings the chorus to both versions.

Here are the lyrics to the 2002 version.
