Review: Hounds Of Gert Town – Blood N Passion

Hounds Of Gert Town – Blood N Passion is one of the lesser know but highly anticipated albums that was supposed to be released on No Limit Records in 2000 but never was released for whatever the reasons may have been. KLC had produced some slapping beats for their album which are absolutely wild and unorthodox. KLC’s beats made the Hounds Of Gert Town sound promising. KLC and Carlos Stephens were the main producers for the album while Master P served as the executive producer.

The recording process for their debut album lasted from 1995 to 2000. The recording process took so long because Master P had to focus on promoting his other artists on the tank on top of his career as a basketball player and his career as an actor. Now Hounds Of Gert Town – Blood N Passion was supposed to be released in 1997 but was ultimately pushed back in favor of Mystikal, Mia X, and Silkk as they had been on the tank longer. Master P felt Hounds Of Gert Town was not ready yet.

Carlos Stephens produced Hound Out for the 1998 compilation album Master P Presents No Limit Soldiers Compilation (We Can’t Be Stopped). The song has decent beats over gutta vibes and a rough edged street sound. All members held captivate No Limit’s audiences to listen to the song.

Full Blooded’s gruff and distinctive delivery on Murder Weapon made him stand out in particular. His dark voice helped make the song stand out and attracted No Limit’s audiences. Honestly this song does not get enough recognition that it deserves. Carlos Stephens and KLC produced Murder Weapon for the 1995 compilation album Down South Hustlers: Bouncin’ And Swingin’. Their beats have a sense of catchiness to them.

Full Blooded’s gruff and distinctive delivery on the song Memorial Day made him stand out in particular. You can feel and hear the real gangsta shit on the song Memorial Day.

I rate this album 4/5****!
