Tributes pour in for NOLA Legend 5th Ward Weebie

We are saddened to report the passing of New Orleans Bounce Legend

The bounce artist, who’s real name is Jerome Cosey, died of complications after undergoing surgery for a ruptured artery, NOLA.com reported. He was 42 years old.

P Town Moe, a fellow New Orleans rapper who was friends with Weebie for more than 20 years, explained on Instagram the series of health issues Weebie dealt with in his last days. ‘First his kidneys went and they had him on a machine to get his kidneys back working, then his lungs went the next day,’ he said. ‘I don’t know why God wanted him at this time … but my brother gone, my brother gone.’

The Bounce music innovator’s catalog included songs such as F*** Katrina and Let Me Find Out, and he worked with Drake on the 2018 hit single Nice for What and Lil Wayne on 2009’s Bend It Ova.

Tributes from No Limit Soldiers Master P, Krazy and more were solid on social media showing love to alumni who was on recent No Limit Soldiers Reunion Tour!
