I’m from the DMV. born in Richmond VA raised Oxon Hill MD but for the most part grew up in Waldorf Maryland
How did your artist name come about?
The name TRIO actually came from little brother Kamo Gwop. I was originally going by my DJ name “DJ Ken” but he said to me one day “bro you can rap, sing, and produce I’ma just call you DJ TRIO” I’m thinking that’s perfect just off the DJ part and the name TRIO caught on and stuck.
How long have you been making music?
I’ve been making music for about 13 years since back in 05. Been pretty much on and off dealing with life but at the end of the day you can stop doing something you love
How would you describe the sound around your music, the background/inspirations behind it?
To sum it all up in one word it would be versatile. whatever the beat tell me to do I do it whether it calls me to do an R&B song, lyrical record, trap record, etc. I like to showcase different range of styles. The inspirations of it come from life itself, you have your great times and worst time of life and that’s how I’m able to bring out and the happiness in a record and create art .
